  • Caia Park Centre
    Caia Park Partnership is a registered charity based in Caia Park in Wrexham. The Partnership has been in existence over fifteen years and delivers a needs led service for people on Caia Park. The Partnership tries through providing training, support and advice to enable local residents to achieve their full potential. We offer a complete and complementary range of services that inter - link to support an individual to develop new skills and gain experience and confidence.
  • Wrexham Social Care Services
    This section provides information, advice and online facilities about blue badge scheme, welfare rights and associated information about Wrexham Council's Social Care Department.
  • AVOW
    AVOW (Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham) is the County Voluntary Council (CVC) for Wrexham County Borough. There are a network of 19 similar organsiations covering the whole of Wales and between us and our National body WCVA (Wales Council for Volunatry Action) we provide support and advice to Voluntary and Community groups. The AVOW Vision is that the voluntary and community sectors achieve their missions for the benefit of the community within the County Borough of Wrexham.
  • Contact the Elderly
    Contact the Elderly is a lifeline of friendship. With over 4,500 volunteers, we relieve the loneliness often felt by people who live alone with little or no social support.
  • Abbeyfield
    Abbeyfield helps an increasing number of older people enjoy a high quality of independent living provided through a range of services, including housing, support or care, with local community involvement.
  • Department of Health
    The Department of Health works to define policy and guidance for delivering a social care system that provides care equally for all, whilst enabling people to retain their independence, control and dignity.
  • Welsh Assembly Members
    Eleanor Burnham....Eleanor was born in Wrexham and brought up in Gwnodl Fawr, Cynwyd. Her early career was in Social Services Management. She was previously a Wrexham Magistrate and a member of Denbigh Hospital Mental Health Tribunal. Her political interests lie in full devolution for Wales, social inclusion and lifelong-learning. Eleanor is also passionate about public transport, especially trains. Eleanor is the Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly spokesperson on Culture, Welsh Language and Sport.

There are literally hundreds of ways in which you can get involved - all you need is a little time and energy. In return you will be rewarded with a sense of personal achievement and satisfaction.
  • Age Concern Care Week
    Between the 8th-12th June 2009, Age Concern and Help the Aged are holding a week of action to promote the need for quality care for older people,and we want you to be part of it! The aim of the week is to get everyone talking about the issue of care and support.

    Help the Aged is an international charity fighting to free older people from poverty, isolation and neglect.

    Do-it was launched in 2001 with the first national database of volunteering opportunities in the UK.



  • The Cinnamon Trust
    Cinnamon Trust is the only specialist national charity which seeks to relieve the anxieties, problems, and sometimes injustices, faced by elderly and terminally ill people and their pets, thereby saving a great deal of human sadness and animal suffering. The Trust was founded in 1985 by Mrs Averil Jarvis whose determination and dedication has ensured that the manifest need is fully addressed.
  • Carer's Week
    Carers Week 2010 is the tenth year that Carers Week has been held in its current format. Organised by a consortium of seven national charities, over 100,000 carers take part in the thousands of activities held in every part of the UK.
